How does the RedTrack Facebook Conversion Tracking work?

While Redtrack claims to have a native Facebook Conversion API (CAPI) integration, you can quickly see from their public documentation that you have to hire a developer to implement it and / or use tools like Google Tag Manager to make it work.

Requirements for Redtrack facebook conversion api integration:
  1. Developer to implement advanced JS tagging.
  2. Access to your merchant or affiliate offer thank you page.
  3. Knowledge of Google Tag Manager triggering and scripting.

Can RedTrack track Shopify conversions accurately?

โ›” No. The Redtrack Shopify integration will not track accurately your conversions because it's a Client Side Tracking Method.

The long answer:

RedTrack does not integrate with Shopify via API. Their tracking method requires that you set the RedTrack Tracking Pixel on the checkout page, which will be blocked by Safari, Firefox and other browser privacy settings.

Redtrack shopify integration relies on cookies and setting a tracking pixel on the Shopify checkout page.

Does Redtrack work with first party or third party cookies?

Redtrack claims that they have "cookieless" tracking method, but they also claim that they are setting cookies in a first party scope.

At we cope with consequences less now, as we stopped relying on third-party cookies ever since Safari announced the switch. We started preparing solutions back then in 2017 and 2018 to make sure we will be well-equipped for cookieless future.

  1. You are required to point your tracking domain to their tracking server IP address. This is what security and privacy experts call CNAME Cloaking, and it already identified as third party tracking cookies by Safari and Firefox.
  2. Regardless of the CNAME cloaking problem, cookies are still required to track the user interactions, especially for Facebook Ads.

How accurate is the RedTrack Facebook Conversion API integration?

We've reviewed the Redtrack Facebook Conversion API integration, and we identified several claims and recommendations that are either wrong, inaccurate, and even dangerously misleading.

Examples of RedTrack misleading claims:

Sending PII data to Facebook:

Redtrack recommends sending PII data such as "social security number, biometric records" to Facebook CAPI to improve your attribution data, and match rate.

โ›” While it's true that you should send PII data to Facebook, it is totally prohibited to send Social Security Number, and there is not such parameter in the Facebook Conversion API. Read More.

The FBCLID parameter is required

Redtrack claims that the FBCLID URL query parameter is  required to send conversion to Facebook.

โ›” Wrong! The FBCLID URL parameter is only present in a portion of the traffic sent by Facebook.

โœ… AnyTrack has access to the FBCLID parameter whether it is present in the URL or not.

24 Hours conversion delay

๐Ÿค” Redtrack claims that "Due to Facebook restrictions, conversion data can be delivered to Facebook within 24 hours."

What's the difference between conversion and conversion data?

Traditional trackers like Redtrack track the conversion event and its value, while AnyTrack goes beyond the conversion event, by tracking the data associated with the conversion.

Can I change my plan later?

Yes. At any given time you can upgrade or downgrade. If you decide to downgrade to a lower plan, your subscription will be available until the end of the current billing cycle.

How does the Free Trial work?

Upon selecting a plan, you will have 14 days to use the platform with all its features and options under the plan. At the end of the 14 days, your payment method on file will be charged for the monthly subscription.
